Since entering clinical practice in 2018, Dr. Perez has developed comprehensive expertise in the evaluation and management of anterior and posterior segment disease, with particular involvement in veteran disability examinations and care delivery within underserved and rural populations, including work on the MHA Nation reservation in North Dakota.

Dr. Perez has a clinical interest in integrating evidence-based ocular research into patient care, with emphasis on chronic disease processes such as diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and ocular surface disease. He has also contributed to expanding access to care through tele-optometry and telemedicine platforms, utilizing remote screening, triage, and follow-up models to improve continuity of care in geographically isolated communities. 

His professional philosophy centers on building sustainable patient-provider relationships while addressing both acute and chronic ophthalmic conditions across diverse populations.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Perez resides with his wife, Staci, a registered nurse, and their four children. Their family maintains an active lifestyle, and he values time spent outdoors, including hiking and fishing, as well as participation in his children’s activities.
